Stony Point Hydrology LLC, is an environmental consulting company led by Dr. Michael Schwar. Striving for a more sustainable world, we provide individuals and communities professional, reliable and educational services to address a vast array of environmental concerns - from environmental compliance to flood management.

Stony Point Hydrology is led by principal engineer Dr. Michael Schwar. Dr. Schwar has over 25 years of experience focusing on the hydrology and hydraulics of surface water systems, with special emphasis on the restoration of streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands. In addition to his work with the Federal government and in academia he has consulted for federal, state, municipal, private and non-governmental clients for over 15 years. He has worked on more than 140 surface water projects in 20 states, Canada and Puerto Rico, including more than 40 with significant ecosystem restoration components.

Dr. Schwar has led the analysis and design of river restoration projects across the Midwest and elsewhere, ranging from bank stabilization treatments along the Menomonee River in Milwaukee (above), to reconnected floodplains in Illinois, to habitat improvements in Arizona.
